Prof. Dr Sudhir Babhulkar, the founder of the hospital and Institute, completed his Orthopaedic training at Mumbai after his graduation from Nagpur Medical College. He returned to Nagpur as the first qualified Orthopaedic surgeon in Central India. Due to this unflinching dedication to his profession and exemplary hardwork, this hospital had evolved as Central India’s premier Orthopaedic Institute offering patients the most advanced treatment facilities. He brought to Nagpur the concept of internal fixation of fractures offering patients early recovery and avoiding cribbling deformities. He has kept himself update with the latest technologies of the western world and employed them successfully in Nagpur. He still actively involved in the management of trauma and complicated fractures management continues to dedicate most of his time for management of Intra-articular injuries and ghastly complex fractures. He is a keen academician and his research work is internationally recognize especially his original work on Sickle cell disease. He was the President of National level Indian Orthopaedic Association in the year 2001and of Vice President AADO, Hong Kong. Prof Sudhir Babhulkar has to his credit more than 500 articles in National and International Journals. He has also been widely lecturing on various topics all over the world incliding Fracture Fixation techniques, Avascular Necrosis, Various ways of Femoral Head Preserving procedures and Sickle Cell Disease. Prof Babhulkar has also published a monogram of Orthopaedic manifestation in Sickle cell disease. This has got recognition worldwide as the milestone key reference book on the subject.
