| Dr. Sushrut
Sudhir Babhulkar, is a graduate and Post-Graduate (MS Orthopaedics)
from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Nagpur. He then did his
Masters Degree from Liverpool University, England M Ch (Orthopaedics)
in 1994 and during the same time worked at various centers
of Excellence in UK like Royal Liverpool University Hospital,
Fazakarley Hospital etc. in 1995. He did a Fellowship in Hand
and Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital, Germany he returned to Nagpur. He continued to visit
and participate in International meetings and activities.
In 1996 he visited famous Cambell clinic at Memphis Tennessee.
In 1998, he visited Norwich UK for knee surgery training as
an international Indian Association Traveling Fellow. In 2000
he visited University of Toronto for Trauma (pelvis and Acetabulum
fractures) training with world-famous Dr. Marvin Tile and
Dr. Joseph Schatzker. In 2002 he was
awarded fellowship with world- famous Dr. C. S. Ranawat, USA
for specialized training in Total Joint Replacement especially
the Total Knee Replacement. He is an Executive Member of Asian
Association for Dynamic Osteosynthesis, an organization for
study and application for advanced and complicated fracture
management and continues to travel Internationally to represent
Asia- Pacific for fracture management principles and treatment.
He runs a dedicated division of Joint Reconstruction at Sushrut
Hospital which offers Arthroscopic Surgery of Joints and Total
Joint Replacement Surgery.

| Dr. Sushrut is
actively involved in joint replacement surgeries of Hips, Knees,
Shoulders and elbows employing all varieties of implants like
cemented and non-cemented options. Till now he has performed
more than 2,000
Joint Replacements of various
kinds and has made the patients pain free and mobile. He
has established a special facility for joint replacement surgeries
called Space theatre which includes Laminar Air Flow, Computer
Assisted surgery and Space suits. This facility was first of
its kind in the entire country and has been in use since 2002. |

| Dr. Sushrut
also demonstrates a keen interest in Arthroscopic Reconstruction
Surgery of knee, Shoulders, Wrist, Ankle and elbow. He routinely
is involved in Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstructions, Meniscal
repair of knees, Shoulder dislocation repair and Complicated
Wrist fractures management by Arthroscopy. He has a dedicated
Computer Assisted Workstation which is again the first of its
kind in the entire country and helps in producing more than
perfect results of Joints and sports injuries reconstructions.
This Division has to its credit
many pioneering articles on the subject of Joint Replacement
and Arthroscopic surgery published in National and International
Journals. Also been credited with designing of various implants
and prosthesis, Dr Sushrut continues his endeavor to come
up with implants and design suitable to Indian patients and
our morphology and requirements. He has been honored with
scholarship and Funding from AADO Hong Kong for development
of such implants.
